Blue Mountains based lesbian bushwalking group Bush Lemons have been staunch supporters of Trek for Timor for more than 10 years. Bush Lemons teams have entered every single Trek in the Blue Mountains and many in Kangaroo Valley, as well as working as committee members, route markers and checkpoint volunteers. They have been major fundraisers for each Trek and in 2018 actually challenged their sponsors that, if they raised more than $5,000, they would wear tutus while they trekked. Did they succeed? Judge for yourself!
Bush Lemons are continuing to support East Timor, and would particularly like to challenge other bushwalking groups to conduct bushwalks during October for VT4T.
Bush Lemons will be conducting walks during their October calendar for members who wish to complete the 100km VT4T. The October walks cover 10km, 20km, 30km and 40km each consecutive weekend, to total the 100km VT4T route. The 40km last walk will be an overnight walk on the Six Foot Track and should be a good challenge for members.
